Education For All

Our world is changing, and in order to prepare our children for this new world we need to change the way we educate them. In the 21st century educators must create a curriculum that will help students connect with the world and understand the issues that our world faces. Education, if looked at beyond its conventional boundaries, forms the very essence of all our actions. What we do is what we know and have learned, either through instructions or through observation and assimilation. When we are not making an effort to learn, our mind is always processing new information or trying to analyze the similarities as well as the tiny nuances within the context which makes the topic stand out or seem different. If that is the case then the mind definitely holds the potential to learn more, however, it is us or at least our situation that stops us from expanding the horizons of our knowledge with self-doubt or other social, emotional, or economic constraints. Bangladesh has had a high rate of literacy rate in the past few years but most of the rural areas still suffer from lack of schools, inadequate supply of books & study materials or poor road conditions &transportation. The effects of poverty on children are wide-reaching and can lead to lifelong struggles, especially when young people don’t receive full educations. Poverty and education are inextricably linked, because people living in poverty may stop going to school so they can work, which leaves them without literacy and numeracy skills they need to further their careers. Their children, in turn, are in a similar situation years later, with little income and few options but to leave school and work. The importance of education in developing countries cannot be overstated. Education can be the catalyst needed to pull families and communities out of the cycle of poverty. Knowledge gives children the power to dream of a better future and the confidence needed to pursue a full education, which in turn will help generations to come. JWF wishes to hold various outdoor teaching and development projects of schools for helping rural development. Education also makes a significant difference for adults, particularly when it applies to day-to-day life, including nutrition, healthcare and gender equity. When adults learn, they become role models to their children, who also wish to learn. JWF aims at increasing the learning opportunity of not only the children who are unable to have proper education but also adults who never had any opportunity to go to schools while growing up.
