Drink Clean Water

The availability of the water greatly fluctuates throughout the year in Bangladesh as the warmer season brings massive amounts of water in frequent monsoons and the cooler season brings drought. The proportion of population receiving clean water is quite low as a greater number of its population suffers to great lengths to get safe drinking water. Among 160 million people in the country over 13% of the people lack access to safe drinking water and suffer from various water contaminated diseases. The groundwater getting increasingly contaminated with arsenic has been the focus of many water rights group such as WHO. JWF works to raise awareness of these matters through various social media posts and campaigns to drink clean drinking water. We also aim to work on various Public Interest Litigations that would establish proper maintenance of adequate supply water and ensure the population of the country with quality water that would enrich their lives.
